Anna Salmi – violin (continued)
In February
2006 Anna performed a violin duo with the
co-leader of the London Symphony Orchestra, Carmine
Lauri, at the Barbican as part of the Genius
of the Violin
Festival. A keen chamber- and orchestral musician,
Anna also enjoys session work and has recorded music
for films at the Abbey Road Studios and a classical music
CD with Orchestra Nova.
Anna recently recorded with the prominent jazz pianist
Paddy Milner and the future recording engagements include
recording for Naxos, as a member of a chamber ensemble.
Anna enjoys a busy freelance
career combining orchestral
playing, chamber music, and teaching. She teaches the violin
at a specialist music school, the North London Colourstrings
Centre. Anna’s passion and commitment to education has
also led her to hold a position of Violin and Viola Specialist at
the American School in London. In January 2006 she accepted
an invitation to join a panel of judges for a competition organised
as part of the International Solo and Ensemble Festival in Hague,
Holland. In addition to being a sounding member of the Lumi
String Quartet, Anna also engages in recital and educational
work with her clarinet trio, Trio Animé (vln/vla, cln, pno).
